Casa Zodiaque, Vence

Casa Zodiaque is an Italian inspired modernized villa from the 1930ies with a lot of character. Just imagine the lit fire place, the glass of Rosé wine at the terrace overlooking the Medieval town center of Vence with panoramic views to the Mediterranean Sea at the same time - just as on a Post card. The warm colours of the building, the flowering Bougainvillers, the compact grounds nourishing olive trees, lemontrees, orange trees - all of it right above the the famous Henri Matisse's dream villa "Le Réve". You get the feeling of being in a dream, too, and frankly you ARE! You only want to leave for shopping fresh food three minutes walk into town.

The villa itself has a ground floor with three guest bedrooms and a bathroom. The Master Bedroom is situated at the upper floor, so is the large new kitchen and the spacious living and dining room opening to the charming south facing balcony with the postal card like views to Vence and the Mediterranean. On the grounds there is an all year Spa hot tub with swimming device - almost a small swimming pool. Winter 2017 offer: Save 295,000 euro - Reduced price NOW 825,000!

About the area

With its more than 20.000 inhabitants Vence is the main town in the Hinterland north of Nice dating to the 11th century, from which especially the town centre "Cité Historique" still enjoys this special atmosphere and Medieval character. Vence is known for its special light and has over hundreds of years attracted many painters and creative souls and still does it. I.e. Henri Matisse lived his last many years in Vence and other famous painters and artist like Marc Chagall, Fernand Leger, Tobiasse, Lindemann often spent their time in Vence.

In a Sub Tropical climate between the Alps to the east and the Esterel mountains to the west, just north of Nice is Vence nestled in 350 m altitude in the characteristic mountain ridge of the "Baous" with the peak Col de Vence in 1.000 m alt above the town centre. Vence is a typical tradesmen's town very much alive all year round. You find some 50 restaurants, among those several with one or two Michelin stars, six different super market stores, numerous hotels from one to five stars, many small local shops, schools, high schools, art university and daily markets where the peasants sell their fresh vegetables, olive oils, meet, cheese and other as well as wines and Brocante, Antiques
